Formnext 2021 will be held using the 2G (vaccinated or rcovered) rule. This was decided by the organiser, Mesago Messe Frankfurt, in consultation with the exhibitor advisory board.
The legal framework condition is the current Corona Protection Ordinance of the Federal State of Hesse, which gives an organiser the choice between applying the 3G (tested, vaccinated or recovered) or the 2G rule.
"In making the decision, we carefully weighed the pros and cons of both options. We came to the decision that the 2G rule offers participants more security, freedom and convenience at the fair," explains Petra Haarburger, Managing Director of Mesago Messe Frankfurt. The 2G rule states that only vaccinated and recovered persons can take part in an event. In return, the mask requirement and distance rules are omitted. "We were happy to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the 2G Rule in Hesse to enable our exhibitors and visitors to have as authentic a trade fair experience as possible and to engage in unrestricted trade fair discussions," adds Sascha Wenzler, Vice President Formnext at Mesago Messe Frankfurt.
The 2G rule is binding for all participants at Formnext. It applies to the employees of the exhibitors, the fair organiser and all service providers. Persons suffering from a Covid-19 disease can prove this with an appropriate official document. Persons who have been vaccinated with a vaccine not approved in Germany require a current PCR test in addition to proof of vaccination. The sample collection for this must not be longer than 48 hours ago. A rapid antigen test is not sufficient as proof. These are only the entry regulations for the event. Country-specific travel regulations must nevertheless be observed. Appropriate control points will be provided on the exhibition grounds in Frankfurt to ensure compliance with the 2G rule.
The combination of the 2G Rule and an excellent air exchange in the exhibition halls will enable Formnext 2021 to take place with a very high level of safety for all participants.
