Despite the problems caused by COVID-19, Pro Carton - the European Association of Cardboard and Folding Box Manufacturers - and the European Carton Makers Association (ECMA) have received many excellent entries from all over Europe for “The European Carton Excellence Award 2020”.

Following the success of the tenth FLYERALARM Design Award 2020, graphic designers, designers and agencies have the opportunity to submit their own ad designs again this year. Cologne delegation travels to Japan
The city partnership between Cologne and Kyoto has existed since 1963 and is characterised by a lively exchange from sport to art and culture. The state of North Rhine-Westphalia, with Cologne as the largest metropolis, has long been one of Europe's most important locations for Japan. Over 600 companies have settled here. The photokina is also an integral part of the good connection to Japan. A delegation from the city of Cologne, Koelnmesse and the Photoindustrie-Verband (PIV) confirmed this connection during a visit to Tokyo.

Of the total of 87 inmates, 53 die.

For her thesis “Gemination and Degemination in English Affixation: Investigating the Interplay between Morphology, Phonology and Phonetics” Ms Sonia Ben Hedia (30) was awarded the 2019 drupa Prize on 17 June 2019. In her doctoral thesis written at the Philosophical Faculty of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf the linguist uses phonetics to investigate how affixed words are processed and stored in the brain. With her empirical research the prize-winner closes a gap in linguistics thereby creating scope for further fundamental research.
