Screen printing is a notoriously polluting industry, and there’s mixed information on how the process can be made more sustainable.
Glass is a favorite packaging material in the food, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics industries. It has no taste or odor, does not react with other materials and does not emit any harmful substances. Colored designs are applied to glass containers using special screen printing equipment. EG-YES, based in the northern Italian town of Maranello, specializes in developing and manufacturing industrial machinery for the processing of glass and ceramic products.
Paper converting specialist Prealpi srl is one of the first customers to leverage the power of the new ACCUCHECK Recipe Management within the BOBST CONNECT platform. Two months later, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) took delivery of a four-color, 25.2x37" RMGT 940ST offset press with an LED-UV curing unit, replacing its 4-color Ryobi 754G XL, which was seven years old.

Graphco, distributor of the leading 8-UP sheetfed press in North America, has delivered an RMGT 8-color 9 Series perfecting offset press to BR Printers, Inc.’s 200,000-square-foot plant in Cincinnati, OH. After an extremely short installation period, the BR Ohio press crew completed the final calibration of their new press, which features Benford LED curing for instantaneous drying as well as INSTA.COLOR makeready technology with SMART simultaneous auto plate changing. This system allows BR to move from job to job without any interruption using what is known as the ASAP (Automatic Smart Assist Program) System.
Koenig & Bauer Banknote Solutions announced the creation of a new strategic partnership with GIETZ in the domain of OVD application for banknotes. The objectives of this new relationship are defined in a Joint Development Agreement, under which both parties commit to leveraging their respective competencies and technologies to improve and develop OVD application platforms for banknote printers.
